FCI drub Madras Club

Incisive bowling by Manan Sharma (4/36) and Rahul Sethi (3/48) helped Food Corporation of India hammer Madras Club by 167 runs in the 38th Lala Raghubir Singh hot weather cricket tournament at the Modern School, Barakhamba Road, grounds in New Delhi on Monday.

Chasing a mammoth 383, Sood (87) led the Madras Club charge but could not see his team through as they folded up for 215 in 33.5 overs. Sharma, Sethi and Akash Malhotra (2/34) shared the spoils for the winners.
Earlier put into bat, centuries from Lakhan Singh (191) and Chetan Sharma (108) propelled Food Corporation of India to 382/4 in 40 overs.
Lakhan and Chetan added 235 runs for the second wicket in 26 overs, while Paras Dogra chipped in with an unbeaten 39.
Varun Sood (3/59) was the pick of the bowlers for Madras Club.
Lakhan Singh was named the Adidas man of the match.
On Tuesday, Collage Group will take on Vidya Jain Academy.
