FCI make final of Raghubir cricket too
Punjab Ranji player Mayank Sidhana led from the front with an even 100 runs to take Food Corporation of India into the final of the 38th Lala Raghubir Singh hot weather cricket tournament being played at Modern School, Barakhamba Road over Hargopal Club by eight wickets on Friday.
FCI have made it to the finals of both the leading local summer tournaments in Delhi with Sidhana scoring a century in the semi-finals of the two tournaments on successive days.
FCI won the toss and elected to field. Naman Sharma (50) and Rahul Yadav (46) played handy knocks to help Hargopal Club post a competitive 243/9 in 40 overs. Pacer Javed Khan (3/55) was the pick of the FCI bowlers.
In reply, FCI chased down the target in 36.5 overs. Sidhana (100) led the way with his his 90-ball knock including seven boundaries and two sixes. Chetan Sharma (72) and Paras Dogra (43 not out) played the supporting role well with handy contributions. FCI will face Telefunken Club in the final which will be telecast live on DD Sports.
