Hemanth, Irfan shine with ball; Surya hits century
CCOB edged out P&T Colony by two wickets in a keenly-fought ‘A’ division cricket match played in Hyderabad.
Batting first, P&T Colony were all out for 183 with Tanmay Agarwal top-scoring with 68. Y. Harish too contributed with 35. For the bowling side, Sheik Mohammed (3 for 34) and Mirza Maqbool Baig (4 for 36) were the picks of the lot for the bowling side.
In reply, CCOB made heavy weather of the modest target before scoring 184 for 8. For the losing side, Hemanth bowled a lion-hearted spell, taking 5 for 39. For the winning team, Sheik Mohammed Murtuza top-scored with 51. Sheik Hussain too scored an unbeaten 34. In a one-sided encounter, Sultan Shahi crushed SA Sports by 146 runs.
Batting first, Sultan Shahi made 278 for 7 with Mahesh (75), Satyapal (50), Rahul (40) and Sathya (32) being the main contributors. In reply, SA Sports were restricted to 132, courtesy Irfan’s 6 for 7. For the losing side, Ramesh made 43. In a closely-fought encounter, Crown scored a three-wicket win over SBI. Batting first, SBI were all out for 195 with G.N. Srinivas (55), Suresh (45) and Iftekaruddin (43 n.o) being the leading run-getters
In reply, Crown rode on Surya Teja’s brilliant innings of 106 to score 196 for 7. Yesudas with 37 was the other notable contributor. For the losing team, Abrar Ahmed took 4 for 40.
