I hope to play in 2015 World Cup: Sreesanth
A sullen face, possibly thanks to 26 days in confinement, with untrimmed hair reflecting strokes of burgundy in camera flashes, was the pale shadow of a man who had walked out of the same exit doors of Nedumbassery Airport 26 months ago.
S. Sreesanth had proudly held a gold medal on April 4, 2011 while receiving a hero’s welcome at the ‘Arrival’ area then. One wonders what played in the back of his mind when a similar gathering booed his first homecoming on bail here on Wednesday
“Not even our enemies should go to jail. Such was my experience in Tihar,” said Sreesanth before calmly responding to the question,:‘Were you trapped in this case?’
“I have nothing to say about it. I have done no wrong and will wait patiently. I was arrested stating there was a conspiracy and hopefully the truth will come to light soon.”
He was accompanied by friends Jayan Thekkedath and Shibu, who flew with him from Delhi. “To play for India is my ultimate goal. I wanted to play in the South African series which is literally doubtful now. But I would really want to play in the 2015 World Cup,” said the fast bowler.
