I keep learning about captaincy from Dhoni: Virat Kohli

New Delhi: Having led India to a 5-0 whitewash over minnows Zimbababwe in the absence of regular skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, star batsman Virat Kohli has underlined his claim of taking over once the former retires.
And the Delhi boy has said that he is learning the tricks from none other than Dhoni himself.
“He (Dhoni) is a guy who doesn’t say much. But I keep talking to him about different situations and what I could do and how should I keep myself calm in pressure situations while captaining the side.
“It helped me chatting to him in the West Indies when he wasn’t playing. All the tips he gave me really helped me,” Kohli said.
Kohli was given charge in three one-dayers in the West Indies tri-series after Dhoni was sidelined owing to a hamstring injury. In Zimbabwe, India registered its first ever ODI series whitewash on foreign soil but Kohli has not been able to get in touch with his ‘mentor’ after the triumph.
“When he (Dhoni) goes away for a holiday it is very hard to contact him. I tried to message him on the phone but I couldn’t reach. I guess I’ll be seeing him soon and speak to him about it (Zimbabwe win),” Kohli added.
Kohli was all-praise for Ravindra Jadeja, who recently became the No.1 ODI bowler in the ICC rankings.
“I am very very happy that he got the no. 1 ODI bowling ranking. He has worked hard over the past few years. It is really good to see him come up the ranks.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
