India-Aus final ODI to be curtailed match
Margao: The third and final ODI between India and Australia at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here today is set to be curtailed after the start was delayed for more than two hours because of wet ground conditions following overnight rains.
The umpires made an inspection at 0900 hours, the scheduled time of start and found the outfield wet. They will make another inspection at 1100 hrs.
Chances of play, however, looked bright with the sun coming out this morning, but the local weather bureau has predicted heavy rainfall for today and tomorrow.
The ground was covered by tarpaulins overnight which protected most parts of it but still there was some seepage in the outfield. Super sopper was used to suck up the water from the covers.
The wicket itself looked dry and fit for play.
