IPL-4 auction kicks off
Bengaluru: The Indian Premier League (IPL) players' auction for the fourth edition began on Saturday at the ITC Royal Gardenia Hotel here. 349 players will be undergoing auction today.
12 players are retained by their franchisee, authorities said.
"We have an interesting scheduled chalked out. It will be an exciting season. We promise to give you a fantastic game. I want to congratulate all owners franchisee for the auction," IPL chairman Chirayu Amin said before the start of the auction.
The IPL-4, beginning April 8, will see 10 teams and 74 matches in the shortest version of cricket. Two new entrants to this edition are Kochi and Pune Warriors.
The 10 owners have 353 players from across the cricketing world, except Pakistan, to bid for Saturday and Sunday.
