Call it the last resort or in hindsight a glimmer of hope for Kochi Tuskers Kerala, the terminated Indian Premier League team, as it has planned to appeal for arbitration against the Board of Control for Cricket in India to spring back into action.

The KTK official facebook page read that it plans to ‘invoke arbitration against BCCI for termination’ and Mehul Shah of the Anchor Group, co-owner of the franchisee confirmed this development with Deccan Chronicle on Friday.

“Yes it is true, we've decided to seek arbitration,” said Mr. Shah. However, he did not comment further on the issue and maintained that they will “come out with a clear picture in about two or three days.”

BCCI president N. Srinivasan had said after the annual general meeting in September last year that it was impossible to remedy the termination of the franchisee, since a breach of agreement was involved.

The IPL governing council had stated that there would be only nine teams, with the exception of KTK for the 2012 season.

The KTK owners had earlier approached the Bombay High Court challenging the BCCI decision, but it was rejected.

Meanwhile, this unexpected flicker of life from the KTK side has awakened KTK fans who were in hibernation.

The one-liner on the KTK fanpage in FB received several comments and the likes in a few hours of its posting.

Arun Gopinathan posted, “Friends. plz see the news on 21 Sep 2011, the same result will continue for this too.....MUMBAI: The Kochi Tuskers didn't score against the BCCI in court on Wednesday.

The Bombay high court refused to grant any immediate interim relief to the IPL franchise from the south which sought to prevent the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) from encashing its bank guarantee of Rs 153 crore".

Pradeep Poulose said, "Went on hybernating mode 4 so long? Sort out the internal matters first". And Vivin Shankar's post whispered the mood in the camp, "Still alive huh???? wat did the owners do so long???? nw guess it's too late.....still a gud move....hope team gets a breakthrough....”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
