Late-riser Raina almost misses Dhaka flight
Dhaka: India's Suresh Raina gave his team anxious moments on Thursday when he overslept and missed the bus carrying the players to Chennai airport at the start of the World Cup journey.
Raina was absent when the squad left the hotel to travel to Dhaka where India clash with co-hosts Bangladesh in the tournament opener on Saturday.
The player rushed to the airport in a taxi and was able to join his team-mates just as they were boarding the chartered flight to Dhaka.
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, speaking to reporters in Dhaka, played down the incident.
"I was not worried because we have 14 other players in the squad to choose from," said Dhoni. "Anyway there is always someone to give a lift to a cricketer in India."
India had played a practice match against New Zealand in Chennai on Wednesday night.
