Laxman, Ojha face big Test on home turf
Hyderabad, Nov. 10: With less than two days to go before Hyderabad joins the elite list of centres in the country to host Test cricket, Arshad Ayub, president, Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is understandably ecstatic ahead of the big Test. “It will be a proud moment for every Hyderabadi,” he said on Wednesday.
On the two Hyderabadis (VVS Laxman and Pragyan Ojha) featuring in the Test, Ayub said, “The last time a Test was played, myself and Mohammed Azharuddin contributed to the team’s victory. I would be more than happy if Laxman and Ojha do the same and help India win.”
On Sachin Tendulkar being one short of reaching another milestone of 50 centuries in Tests, Ayub said, “He has always done well here. The last time he played here, Sachin scored a superb century and I would love to see him score another big one.”
On the city experiencing an inclement weather in the last few days, Ayub said, “It rained heavily on Tuesday but we have the supersoppers in place and we pray that there are no more rains.”
