‘Lions game will be a test of character’
Rajasthan Royals find themselves sitting pretty in the race for the CLT20 2013 semi-finals in the aftermath of Monday’s downpour in Ahmedabad. With the four other teams in their group wading away with just two points each, the Royals — on four points from their opening day’s win over Mumbai Indians — already have a significant edge.
Opener Ajinkya Rahane, however, said the hosts were not looking too far ahead at the moment. “We have won the first game and momentum is with us now. Anything can happen in T20s, so we don’t want to think about other teams getting only two points — we just want to continue with our strategy and what we di-d against Mumbai.”
The right-hander, who plays the anchor role for the Royals said their game on Wednesday, against a quality side like Lions, would be a good test of their approach. “They have some good, experienced bowlers. Sohail Tanvir is there, and they have Tsotsobe, Imran Tahir, Phangiso – they are a good team. As for us, we are not depending on any individual bowler or batsman,” he added.
