LK International drub Bal Bharti

Shubham Dahiya’s 73-run knock helped LK International Public School, Bawana, beat Bal Bharti Public School, Rohini, by the huge margin of 200 runs in a Group D league match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup Under-16 inter-school tournament at the Titiksha Public School grounds in the capital on Thursday.

Bal Bharti Public won the toss and opted to field first. With the help of a fresh pitch and an ineffective bowling attack however, LK International Public School’s Shubham Dahiya smashed boundaries to chalk up a blistering 73.
Shubham was well-supported by Akash Khanna, who played a steady innings of 56 runs. The two led the batting charge and took their team’s score to 264.
Bal Bharti Public School’s spearhead bowler Vyom Sharma was the standout bowler for his side with a five-wicket haul and helped bowl out the opposition in 29.4 overs.
In reply, however, Bal Bharti Public School failed to build partnerships and were bowled-out for a meagre 64. LK International Public School’s bowlers Amit Rana and Praveen Dabas’ three-wicket haul helped bundle out the opposition in 16.4 overs.
Shubham was adjudged the man of the match for his spectacular innings.
In a Group F league match, Kunwar Suryansh’s half-century helped DAV Public School, Shalimar Bagh, beat SD Public School, Kirti Nagar, by seven wickets.
SD Public School won the toss and elected to bat. But they failed to cash in on the opportunity and were bowled out for just 104. DAV Public School bowlers Vishal Malik and Aditya Sharma’s three-wicket hauls rattled the oppositions’ batting line-up and ensured they were bowled out in 33 overs.
Saksham Chaudhry showed some resistance with his steady half-century and helped his team post 104.
In reply, DAV Public School chased down the target losing just three wickets. Suryansh played a match-winning innings and was well supported by Hardeep, who scored 24 runs and took his team to victory in 21st over.
Scores: LKIS 264 in 29.4 overs (Shubham Dahiya 73, Akash Khanna 56; Vyom Sharma 5/18) bt BBPS 64 in 16.4 overs (Yadish Singh 17; Amit Rana 3/3, Praveen Dabas 3/10).
SDPS 104 in 33 overs (Saksham Chaudhry 50; Vishal Malik 3/8, Aditya Sharma 3/21) lost to DAVPS 110/3 in 21 overs (Kunwar Suryansh 51 not out, Hardeep 24 not out; Gajendra 1/16).
