McGrath getting $250K-plus offers to sell wedding coverage rights
Melbourne, July 26: Soon to wed, retired Australian Cricketer Glenn McGrath could get offers upwards of 250,000 dollars from tabloid magazines for the rights of his wedding with Sara Leonardi.
The legendary bowler hasn’t struck a deal with any magazine yet and instead chose to confirm his engagement to the Sunday press for free.
Industry sources are saying that if the couple ink a deal, it will most likely be with Australian Women’s Weekly, which dealt extensively with McGrath and his late wife Jane and also published confirmation of his relationship with Leonardi back in February 2010.
AWW Editor-In-Chief Helen McCabe said that she was yet to hear from McGrath but confirmed that she had a great rapport with both him and his new fiancee.
“Personally I got to know both Glenn and Sara during the last shoot we did with them and I am so pleased they're getting married,” Herald Sun quoted McCabe as telling Confidential.
“I would expect that we will have some discussion with him at some stage in regards to the wedding. But I know in the past Glenn has expressed some frustration at the interest in his personal life so perhaps he is just waiting a while and taking a breather before deciding how to handle this,” she added.
