Meaker to fly in as cover for Finn on India tour

Pacer Stuart Meaker has been called by the England team as cover for the injured Steven Finn ahead of the four-Test series against India starting November 15.

"Surrey pace bowler Stuart Meaker will join England in India next week, ahead of the four-day game in Ahmedabad, as fast bowling cover while Steven Finn continues his recovery from a thigh strain," the England and Wales Cricket Board said in a statement.

Meaker, who has been capped twice in the 50-over format, will return to the England Performance Programme once Finn is available for selection.

"The 23-year-old's arrival date is subject to obtaining the necessary visa early next week."

Finn picked up the injury during the first practice game against India A in Mumbai.

After the on-going second practice game against Mumbai A, England will head to Ahmedabad for the third and final warm-up match against Haryana.
