Nickname: Dinda, Dindo

Fondest IPL memory: Bowling a maiden over to Delhi Daredevils’ David Warner in IPL 2010 when I was playing for Kolkata Knight Riders. I bowled him with the last ball of the over.

Best compliment that has come your way: Allan Donald called me, “The tough little bugger with a huge heart”, but Dada said recently about me: “He is the best in the country right now”. That means a lot to me.

Childhood hero: Sourav Ganguly, who else? I have grown up watching Dada rule the field, but never thought that I would actually get the chance to play with him someday.

One thing people don’t know about you: I get up really early on match days. Like 4am. But with our schedule, it’s not possible anymore.

Favourite Football Club: East Bengal FC

One thing you hate: Being called Gilli Danda
by some friends
