Modern School too hot for MRV

Biren Singh’s all-round display (50, 4/28) and Ekansh Gulati’s 75 led Modern School, Barakhamba Road, to a 125-run win over MRV School, Dwarka Sector 13, in a Group G league match of the Coca-Cola Cricket Cup Under-16 inter-school tournament at the Modern School grounds on Thursday.

Put in to bat, Modern School posted 312/6 in 40 overs.
Gulati and Abhishek Goswami led the charge with 75 and 64, respectively. They were well-supported by Singh, who also smashed a half-century.
MRV School’s Alok Singh finished with a three-wicket haul.
In reply, MRV were bowled out for 187 in 40 overs. Sahil Rana top-scored with 79, while Akshay Yadav contributed 45.
For Modern School, Singh scalped 4/28, as the team eased to victory.
In a Group F second round match, Vineet Beniwal (35) and Shivam (33) helped Ryan International School, Rohini, beat Muni International School, Uttam Nagar, by three wickets at the Government School ground in Vikaspuri.
