MSD rues bowlers' sorry show
Centurion, Jan. 22: India skipper M.S. Dhoni said the inability of his bowlers to take wickets at crucial junctures was the reason India lost the rain-hit fourth one-dayer to bring the series level 2-2.
“I tried the fast bowlers, spinners, part-timers but things don’t go your way always. But we didn’t produce enough wicket-taking deliveries,” he said. “They were scoring at a healthy pace. And that meant if they batted for 50 overs, they will get to a good total... and that’s what happened.”
Dhoni used as many as eight bowlers to contain the Proteas’ batsmen but, barring Yuvraj Singh, no one was effective. He felt that after it started to rain, India had very little chance of winning the game.
