Mumbai lift Vijay Merchant Trophy
Mumbai lifted the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy, despite the final against Delhi ending in a draw here on Monday.
The hosts were declared the winners on the basis of their first innings lead.
Mumbai, who put up a mammoth 701/7 declared in their first essay, were placed at 142/1 in 46 overs when the umpires called off play with the consent of both the teams.
Arman Jaffer emerged the star of the final, hitting 290 for Mumbai in the first innings.
Delhi were bowled out for 222 in 75.5 overs in their first innings.
