Murali indeed is a chucker: Bedi

New Delhi, July 28: Former India captain Bishen Bedi today stuck to his long-held view that now retired Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was a chucker.

Muralitharan today described Bedi a controversy monger and an ordinary bowler who would have been thrashed easily by any batsman had he been playing in the modern era.

On being asked about his reaction, Bedi said, "I don't want to react. Don't want to comment. I don't want to say anything to be honest. You know my views. I don't want to stoop to his levels. I don't call Murali a chucker. He is a chucker."

Bedi has been a detractor of Muralitharan for a long time and had asked the ICC to ban the Sri Lankan's 'doosra' as it was "illegal".
