New Zealand win toss, elect to bat
New Zealand captain Ross Taylor won the toss and elected to bat against India in the first match of the ODI tri-series here on Tuesday.
India, having rested key players like Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh, will also be without pacer Ishant Sharma in the lung-opener after the lanky bowler picked up an ankle injury.
New Zealand are also a depleted side, missing the services of their inspirational skipper Daniel Vettori and the explosive batting duo of Jesse Ryder and Brendon McCullum.
The Teams:
India: MS Dhoni (c), Virender Sehwag, Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Praveen Kumar, Abhimanyu Mithun, Ashish Nehra, Pragyan Ojha
New Zealand: Ross Taylor (c), Martin Guptill, Peter Ingram, Kane Williamson, Scott Styris, Grant Elliott, Gareth Hopkins, Jacob Oram, Kyle Mills, Daryl Tuffey, Andy McKay.
