Odisha deny hosts Delhi a bonus point
Former champions Delhi continued to exasperate on Day Three of their Group B Ranji Trophy game against Odisha here on Sunday, unable to close the door on a wearing Kotla pitch despite taking a healthy 188-run first innings lead.
The visitors, seven without loss overnight, managed to stretch their second dig to 229/6 in 91 overs. In the process, they made sure that Delhi would be denied the bonus point from an innings victory as they are now 41 runs ahead with four wickets still in hand.
With a largely raw attack at his disposal, Delhi skipper Shikhar Dhawan had six bowlers in service, including himself, but where Odisha seamers Basant Mohanty and Alok Mangaraj had taken seven of Delhi's 10 wickets, his attack could not quite match up, despite operating on a third day track.
