Oldies hope for a golden streak
Jan. 7: In the shortest format of cricket, some of the veterans of the game will be flexing their muscles and testing themselves against the youngsters, who have flourished in the Twenty20 format.
But there is no certainty that the veterans may have it easy. Leading the golden oldies list is Brian Lara, who at 41 years and eight months, is the oldest player in the list with a base price of $400,000.
Adding the Indian flavour is Sourav Ganguly, who at 38 years and six months is the oldest home player in the auction. Sanath Jayasuriya, 41, is the second oldest player in the auction after Lara and has a base price of $200,000. He played for Mumbai Indians until 2010.
