Pakistan wins toss and bowls vs England
Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl against England in the first one-day international in Durham as the tourists seek a morale-boosting win following recent allegations of fixing.
The start was delayed by more than two hours because of rain, and there will now be 41 overs per side and a 20-minute interval. Pakistan was looking to bounce back from its crushing 2-0 defeat in the Twenty20 series against England, during which it recorded its lowest ever T20 score.
Wahab Riaz, who will be questioned by police next week in connection with a betting scam uncovered by a newspaper sting, did not make the team but tall paceman Mohammad Irfan was drafted in for his debut. Asad Shafiq was also given a start Friday but all-rounder Abdul Razzaq was dropped. Ravi Bopara replaced Luke Wright for England.
