Police seek action against Venkatesh Prasad after Bengaluru incident
RCB's bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad found himself in a spot of trouble on Sunday, when his wife, Jayanthi Prasad, reportedly picked an argument with policemen who asked her to leave the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium venue after the match.
According to reports, Bengaluru city police have now written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and Indian Premier League (IPL) authorities seeking action against the former Team India bowler.
On Sunday, a police team inspecting the venue after the Bangalore-Hyderabad match found Jayanthi Prasad waiting near her car and then asked her to leave. Trouble began when Mrs Prasad took offense, and started arguing with the police team. Moments later, Venkatesh Prasad joined the row.
Cops at the spot allege she used foul language and refused to obey a security order.
Prasad later attempted damage control and released a statement 'regretting the incident'.
"Both my wife and I regret the incident and the matter has since been amicably discussed with all concerned and resolved, and now stands closed."
No formal complaint has been recorded.
