President felicitates blind cricket team
President Pranab Mukherjee felicitated the Indian blind cricket team for winning the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup earlier this month.
Sports minister Jitendra Singh and BCCI vice-president Arun Jaitley were also present at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the capital.
Meanwhile, the Cricket Association for the Blind in India requested the President to consider Indian captain Shekar Naik for the prestigious Arjuna Award.
The sports minister said the government will consider the request of awarding `30 lakh each to the players and `10 crores to promote blind cricket in India.
