Rain dampens festival spirit
Unexpected rains that lashed the temple city led to cancellation of the scheduled flag hoisting ceremony at the Rangiri Stadium. The Indian team and media were to attend, a traditional Independence Day ceremony together but foul weather intervened. Skipper M.S. Dhoni was to hoist the tri-colour. A few members of the Indian high commission were also to be present. “The Independence Day is a great day for every Indian. Being from the sports community, I am looking forwards to the two major events we are going to host in a year starting from now. One is the Commonwealth Games and the Cricket World Cup,” said Dhoni who was seen sporting the tri-colour on his shirt.
Saturday evening was time well spent for the Indian team as they underwent a team building exercise. The players and support staff were divided into five groups of four members each. The theme for the evening was mimicry and imitation of body language.
