Rajath bags seven in Vidya Vardhaka win

Rajath Gaikwad’s seven-wicket haul single-handedly ensured Vidya Vardhaka School, Rajajinagar’s thrilling, 13-run victory over APS High School in the U-16 inter-school cricket tournament for the B.T. Ramaiah Shield tournament. Batting first, Vidya Vardhaka scored a respectable 158-8 in 30 overs. Rajath C. scored an unbeaten 51 while Manjunath and Pawan scalped two wickets each.

In reply, Rajath, whose figures read 7-24, wreaked havoc as APS were bowled out for 145 in 24 overs. For the vanquished, Darshan scored 48, while Nagarjun chipped in with 44 but it didn’t prove enough.

In other matches, Karthik’s unbeaten 73 guided Ryan International school to a facile 85-run win over Indiranagar High School.
Chasing a target of 163, Indiranagar were skittled for 77 in 26 overs.

Carmel High School, Basaveshwarnagar: 134 for 5 in 20 overs (Gautam 51, Jayadev 37, Sachin 2/23) bt Hymamshu Jyothi Kalapeetha: 118 for 8 in 20 overs (Vishwas 33 n.o., Vijeeth 2/24) by 16 runs.
Kendriya Vidyalaya, DRDO: 101 for 8 in 25 overs (Rubin Sangwan 45 n.o., Deepak 4/13, Swaroop 2/22) lost to St. Paul’s English School: 62 for 1 in 10.2 overs by 9 wickets. Due to rain target reduced to 61 runs in 15 overs.
Jyothy Kendraiya Vidyalaya: 188 all out in 24 overs (Sarthak N 22, Darshan BV 42, Shishirath 3/30, Nikilesh 2/22, Shashank 2/19) vs RV Public School: 32 for 3 in 8 overs (Vinay 2/9) match was called off due to heavy rain.
East West School: 43 all out in 14.2 overs (Aditya 3/10) lost to KV Hebbal: 44 for 2 in 7.5 overs by 8 wickets.
