RP Academy in quarters, Sporting win

Delhi Under-22 player Vaibhav Rawal slammed an unbeaten 128 to help RP Academy beat SB Youth by seven wickets and enter the quarter-finals of the DDCA hot weather cricket tournament in New Delhi on Wednesday.

SB Youth’s batting line-up was rattled by Sachin Chichi, who picked up 3/30, as they were bowled out for 165 in 38 overs. Aditya Kaushik’s half-century and Kapil Dhaka’s 48 were the only notable performances from SB Youth.
RP Academy chased down the target with relative ease thanks to Rawal. None of the SB Youth bowlers could impress as RP Academy scored 166/3 in 33.5 overs.
In another match, an all-round show by Arun Chaprana and Pramod Chandela’s century helped Delhi Cricket Club beat Delhi Wonder by six wickets.
Delhi Wonders batted first to put up 270/8 in 40 overs. Joginder Singh was impressive with his 70, while Kunj Sharma chipped in with crucial 60 runs.
Chaprana was the only noteworthy bowler for the Delhi Cricket Club, picking up 2/30. He later returned to inflict more pain on the opposition, this time scoring 90 runs.
Chandela, too, held his own with a brisk 135. None of the Delhi Wonders bowlers could impress as the Delhi Cricket Club overhauled the target in 35.3 overs, losing four wickets in the process.
Elsewhere, Bharat Awasthi’s 4/28 helped Sporting beat FCI by 10 runs.
Riding on Rohan Rathi’s 81, Sporting put up 265 in 40 overs. Rohit Saini added 61 to the total.
In the chase, FCI were bowled out for 255 in 39.5 overs, with Awasthi’s splendid spell complemented by Vision Panchal’s 4/40.
Ishan Malhotra top-scored for the losing side with 112.
In another encounter, Lokinder Singh bowled an impressive spell of 5/28 in ONGC’s massive 100-run win over Telefunken.
ONGC batted first and made 154 in 38 overs on the back of Taruver Kohli’s 44 and Sahil Sharma’s unbeaten 20.
In the chase, none of the Telefunken batsmen could stay in the middle for long as Singh and Sharma (2/24) tore through their line-up. Telefunken were skittled out for 54 in 21 overs.
