Sanga slams ton as Sri Lanka rout Proteas
Sri Lanka defeated South Africa by 180 runs in the first one-day international in Colombo on Saturday to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Kumar Sangakkara hit 169 off 137 balls as Sri Lanka piled up 320/5 and then bowled the tourists out for 140 in the day-night match at the Premadasa stadium.
Sangakkara’s 16th century in his 350th one-dayer steered Sri Lanka to a commanding total after Tillakaratne Dilshan had fallen cheaply in the fourth over, bowled by Chris Morris.
