Shagun puts Goa in command
Hyderabad, Sept. 18: Goa’s Shagun Kamat’s day single-handedly helped his side score 323 in the Moin-Ud Dowla cricket tournament semifinal against Orissa at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here on Saturday.
Shagun scored a superb 178 studded with 13 fours and three sixes in his 231-ball essay. He was well-supported by teammate Robin D’Souza who made a handy 46. For the bowling side, Niranjan Behera took 4/75 while teammate Santosh Jena took 2/47. Biplab Samantaray too contributed with 2/75. In reply, Orissa was 5 for 1.
Meanwhile, the other semifinal between HCA President’s XI and UP at Gymkhana was called off due to wet outfield.
