Sharma shines for Ravindra Academy
Siddhant Sharma’s fine 47 helped Ravindra Academy beat Pelican Club by four wickets in a league match of the Satish Sharma Memorial Under-17 cricket tournament at the Central Secretariat grounds in the capital on Tuesday.
The tournament was inaugurated by India opener Virender Sehwag.
Batting first, Pelican Club posted 123/3 in 20 overs thanks to Vikas Rana’s unbeaten 43 and Pankaj Chauhan’s 34. Pawan Kumar chipped in with 25.
In reply, man of the match Sharma led the charge as Ravindra Academy overhauled the target in 19.3 overs. Chauhan and Pawan took one wicket each for Pelican Club.
Vidya Jain Public School beat Madras Club by eight wickets in the second league match.
Chasing 116, Vidya Jain School went past the target in 14.3 overs, largely thanks to impressive knocks from Jaideep Singh (37) and Ayush Kharab (51).
Kharab was named man of the match.
