Shuttler Saina Nehwal makes IPL debut

Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal made her maiden appearance in an Indian Premier League match when she came to cheer for the Deccan Chargers in their match against Kings XI Punjab at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Khel Ratna Awardee is currently preparing for the London Olympics.

RGICS bathes in blue

With the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium playing host to its first game in IPL-5, the fans were understandably in high spirits.

The crowd count swell as the game progressed. With fans coming in good numbers to support the home team, it surely appeared that RGICS was bathed in the blue colours of the Deccan Chargers’ jersey.

Eye-catching Shastri

Ravi Shastri surprised many on Tuesday when he came for a chat with the two captains during the toss wearing sunglasses. While some said he was trying to make a style statement, the truth was that the former Indian captain was suffering from an eye infection. However, an infected eye did not stop Shastri from having a joke or two with the players.
