Sonnet Club make it to quarters

Ekalavya Devedi scored 74 while Sunny Sehrawat picked up four wickets as Sonnet Cricket Club beat Vidya Jain Academy by eight wickets in a pre-quarter-final match of the 40th all-India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial cricket tournament at the St Stephen’s College grounds in the capital on Tuesday.

Chasing 192, Sonnet Cricket Club overhauled the target in 29.4 overs, finishing on 193/2, thanks to the contributions of Devedi and Samarth Singh (64 n.o.).
Earlier put in to bat, Vidya Jain Academy posted 190 in 31.4 overs, Vikram Singh leading the way with 91. Karan Negi chipped in 35 before Sehrawat ripped through the batting line-up. Subodh Bhati and Milind Kumar took two wickets each. Sonnet Club’s Sehrawat was named the man of the match
