Sporting Club face KN Colts

Sporting Club will take on KN Colts in the inaugural match of the 37th Lala Raghubir Singh hot weather cricket tournament that gets under way at the Modern School, Barakhamba Road grounds in the capital on Sunday.

Fifteen teams — divided into three groups — will take part in the tournament. The top three will qualify for the semi-finals directly, while the 4th and 5th placed sides will fight it out for the last berth.
ONGC, Collage Group, Rajnigandha, Sonnet Club,Gush Club, Players Academy, Rohtak Road Gymkhana, Hargopal Cicket Club, RP Academy Madras Club, Vidya Jain, Food Corporation of India and Telefunken Club are the participating teams.
The winners will be richer by `2 lakh, while the runners-up will receive `1 lakh. The losing semi-finalists will get `51,000 each.
The best batsman, best bowler and man of the tournament will get shoes from Adidas.
The tournament will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis of 40 overs each side.
The final will be telecast on Doordarshan on June 9.
