Sreesanth foresees more Keralites in Indian team
Kerala cricket hasn’t been a regular feeder to the Indian team, but all that will change in the coming years with the state’s young guns turning into a formidable force, believes speedster S. Sreesanth.
The world cup winner said the appointment of Sandeep Patil as chairman selection committee of Board of Control for Cricket in India, will fling open the doors of opportunity for fine young cricketers from the south.
“It wouldn’t be a surprise to find at least a couple of Kerala players in the Indian team before 2020. Personally I would want to be back in the squad at the earliest and continue to play for a long time,” he said.
Sree, currently recuperating from surgeries on his toes was attending the Gramot-savam organised by Sree Chitra international foundation at Haripad here on Friday.
After being sidelined for nearly 17 months, between which he missed the fifth edition of IPL, due to injuries, Sree can’t think of anything but attain match fitness and return to MSD’s squad.
