Super Kings will steal the show

With great joy the South Africans welcomed the world of cricket to their country by hosting the ACL T20 2010 this year. Last year’s Champion’s League was not a good outing for the IPL teams, but things are different this time.
Both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings asserted their arrival in this tournament in style by defeating Guyana and Central Stags respectively. Mumbai Indians on the other hand had a disappointing start to the tournament losing their first two games. While RCB have qualified with a thrilling win over the Highveld Lions, CSK too paved their way into semis defeating the Warriors — the favourites to win the tournament!
CSK is a strong unit but haven’t played to their potential so far. In their match against the Bushrangers, they had an equal chance to win with the super over coming into play. To our disappointment CSK lost the match. But one cannot deny the fact that Dhoni’s team is a formidable unit. With the likes of Muralidharan, Bollinger and Balaji taking care of the bowling department and Murali Vijay, Raina and Hussey leading the batting line-up, we can expect a cracker of a match in the semis.
Since the next IPL would see the same players playing for different teams because of the fresh auction this year, this is the last time RCB and CSK would be playing together as a unit. They would want to finish off on a high by winning the Champions League T20 2010. Being a big fan of cricket as such I have thoroughly enjoyed the Champion’s League this year. The quality of cricket displayed was fantastic. It’s amazing to see how the world comes together to celebrate cricket this way.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
