Telefunken in knock-out stage

An all-round performance by Ankit Dabas (45, 2/34) coupled with Saurabh Sharma’s 45 helped Telefunken Club beat star-studded ONGC by 17 runs and enter the knock-out round of the 38th Lala Raghubir Singh hot weather cricket tournament on Tuesday.

Put in to bat, Telefunken Club posted 193 in 38.2 overs. Left-arm spinner Praveen Gupta was impressive for ONGC claiming 4/36. In reply, ONGC were bowled out for 176 in 39.2 overs. India opener Gautam Gambhir (26) and Unmukt Chand (14) added 35 runs for the first wicket, before Mayank Tehlan steered the innings with 64 but wasn’t enough.
In another league match, Ashutosh Prajapati smashed a century while Sandeep Yadav scalped 4/32 as Madras Club thrashed Rajnigandha by nine wickets. Chasing 155, Madras Club reached the target comfortably in 17.2 overs.
Earlier, Rajnigandha were bowled out for 154 in 36.1 overs.
