Time to take my game to next level: Parthiv
Parthiv Patel may not be getting enough playing time in the Indian national team as the wicketkeeping-batsman’s spot is very much owned by the captain M.S. Dhoni.
But there never has been any doubt about the amount of talent this ‘pocket dynamite’ possesses.
He has made valuable contributions both in Indian Premier League (for Chennai Super Kings and now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala) and in international matches.
However, one aspect of Parthiv’s game that has often come under criticism is that he fails to convert the good starts on to big scores.
“I have come up with decent performances in the IPL. But I could not convert the starts into match-winning knocks. This time I am determined to do it for the Chargers,” said Parthiv.
“Having played a lot of international and domestic matches, it is completely my responsibility to convert my performances. And right now I am well-prepared. It is time to take my game to the next level,” he added.
Talking about the prospect of the Chargers, Parthiv exuded confidence. “It is all about starting well in the tournament. If we can win the first two matches then the momentum will help us. We have a balanced side and if we can gel early on we are definitely capable of going all the way.”
Parthiv said that the Hyderabad Ranji players like D.B. Ravi Teja and Ahmed Quadri will come good in this edition of the League.
“They have done really well in the domestic season. These youngsters will certainly relish the opportunity to play in front of a huge crowd on such a big stage,” said the 27-year-old.
