VVS motivated me, says Bhajji
Ahmedabad, Nov. 8: There aren’t many number eights in world cricket who possess the kind of timing and hand-eye coordination Harbhajan Singh is blessed him. But that’s what Harbhajan’s style of batting is — streaky and fun. And it’s over before it can evolve from just being a “valuable contribution” to the team’s cause to an “innings” that propels the team.
“I’ve made enough mistakes in my batting over the years. I want to improve now,” said the 30-year-old. “Now that’ve got the hundred, it feels fantastic.”
Perhaps, Bhajji just needed the comfort of having a rock-solid Laxman at the other end to push him past the 100-run mark.
“He was the reason I got my hundred. He kept saying that I was batting really well and I just had to concentrate over by over. He told me not to play the on-the-rise shots. That helped. Laxman batted superbly. He deserves more credit than me,” Bhajji added.
