We may hire personal Coaches: Raina
India `A' Captain Suresh Raina feels that in the future, players might contemplate hiring coaches to advise them on their game.
With cricket now being played virtually all round the year, cricketers need to often switch from one format to another. Changing gears from Twenty20 to Test cricket can be demanding and a player may not be able to cope with it.
It is here, that a personal coach can come in handy. India ‘A’ Captain Suresh Raina felt that in the future, players might hire coaches to advise them on their game.
“With so many formats to switch between, it sometimes gets difficult and you need somebody to observe you and guide you all the time. Look at sports like tennis and shooting, the coach always travels with the sportsman,” Raina said.
Raina had asked Pravin Amre to observe his batting in the nets on Sunday. “Every coach has his own method. When I was 14 or 15, I played a lot of matches at the U-19 level for Air India and have known Pravin sir since then. He knows my batting well.”
Raina said he will continue to seek help in the future too to work on his game. “When you are making a lot of money, why shouldn't you hire a specialist who can help you out? It's something that I can look at in the future.”
