Yuvraj Singh’s admirers found themselves relived as the cricketer revealed on micro-blogging site Twitter that his health is improving day by day.

Yuvraj Singh has been diagnosed with cancer that is curable and is undergoing treatment in the United States.

The Punjab-born thanked his well-wishers through his posts on the wee hours of Wednesday. He also expressed his hope that he would like to meet cycling legend Lance Armstrong, another sportsman who had fought cancer to make his way back to the track.

On his Twitter ID @yuvsingh09, he posted, “I look forward to meet lance armstrong soon and take inspiration!” The cyclist (@lancearmstrong) replied to him encouraging him, “Go @yuvsingh09!!!!”.

Recently, Yuvraj’s father Yograj had revealed that the doctor who has successfully treated Lance Armstrong for testicular cancer, has assured his son that he would 'come back as a new champion'.

Yuvi said he is hoping to play for India soon. “Of course everyday I look forward to come back and wear my india jersey my india cap and represent my country again jai hind,” the cricketer tweeted.

Clearing the air

The cricketer also made use of the virtual space to clarify few things.

“I see a lot of peopl blaming jatin chaudhary but he is at no fault he only tried to help it was my decision to go with alternative medicine,” he tweeted. Jatin Chaudhary, Yuvraj’s physiotherapist has been under fire with Delhi Medical Council (DMC) blaming him as a ‘fake’.

Chaudhary had slammed those reports saying, “"I have a recognised UGC degree and I am also registered under the All India Association of Physiotherapy. The DMC has no authority to question me.”

Yuvraj also went onto say that the blame for delaying his treatment is neither on his guru Sant Ajit Singh Hansaliwala nor BCCI.

“I see few people trying to blame my guruji for delay and bcci ! Again wrong it was my decision ! The president and the members of bcci have bin a huge support in my tough times and because of them I'm getting the best treatment ! Thank you again bcci,” he posted on Twitter.

‘Overwhelmed, thanks to all’

In a reply to actor Amitabh Bachchan, who had wished Yuvraj a speedy recovery, the southpaw player tweeted, “@SrBachchan thank your for wishes sir! I'm getting better every day.”

He also thanked Sahara Group Chairman Subroto Roy. “Thank you sahara shree for his support and thinking bout me as his family!,” Yuvi tweeted. Sahara, while pulling out of its ties with BCCI, had mentioned Yuvraj Singh in their press release wishing him the very best.

He also expressed gratitude to Union sports minister Ajay Maken, J&K CM Omar Abdullah and Gujarat CM Narendra Modi.

“Thank you to ajay maken ! mr omar abdullah and mr narendra modi for there kind words!

“Overwhelmed with the love and support people have given me, I feel joy in my heart that so many wishes. Will cure me! Iv read every tweet of every fan who has wished me watched all videos! Seen how many prayers are said in temples! I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

“Thank you again to all my friends back home! I'm recovering well yes its tough but tough times don't last tough men do ! I will fight and come back as a stronger man cause I have the prayers of my nation ! Thank you to the media for support and respecting my privacy. One will thank you in time bye for now,” the star player posted.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
