‘CM’s assertion on MCD insulting’

MCD standing committee chairman Yogender Chandolia on Tuesday took strong objection to chief minister Sheila Dikshit’s comment on MCD being a fraud organisation considering that there were 30,000 fake employees. Such a statement in the Assembly tantamounts to insult of the House and the Delhi high court where the matter pertaining to fake employees is pending.
Addressing a press conference with leader of the MCD House Subhash Arya, Mr Chandolia said that the allegations were baseless and only showed the CM’s narrow political mindset. She also seems to have ignored the dignity of her post, he added.
Mr Chandolia said that there is nothing which can justify the CM’s statement.
Mr Chandolia said that the MCD was linking the biometric system with payment of salaries from April.
Mr Chandolia said that the CM should introspect about her own ministers. “When the Lokayukta asked for removal of a minister, Ms Dikshit started talking about clipping powers of the Lokayukta,” said Mr Chandolia, adding that Lokayukta was a prestigious position having its own jurisdiction.
