‘Godman’ arrested for abducting minor boys
A self-styled godman, allegedly involved in abduction of minor boys, was arrested by south Delhi police from a temple in Fatehpur Beri. The accused, Prem Das, 50, a native of Bhagalpur, Bihar was arrested following a complaint by a man on March 2 to Ayodhya police saying that his 13-year-old son, Deepak was abducted from outside his school. The police swung into action and raids were conducted to trace the boy.
“Das had started a conversation with Deepak and lured him by painting scenes of life in a city and promising to give him work. Deepak fell to the bait and came with him to Delhi.
However, Deepak was made to sleep on the train floor by Das due to which he got worried and called his father on reaching Delhi,” a senior police official said
“Deepak told his father the exact location of the temple constructed by Das on Bandh Road, Gadaipur in Fatehpur Beri in 1988. Raids were conducted and four other children, who were abducted by Das over the last one year, were rescued from the temple.
