‘Kalmadi thanked ex-mayor in speech’
The MCD has decided to send the bill incurred on the additional sanitation staff it deployed for cleaning of Games Village and the expenses required to clear the stench of Barapulla nullah to the Delhi government. In a meeting of the MCD House, the BJP councillors also condemned organising committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi taking the name of former mayor instead of the present incumbent during his speech at the closing ceremony on Thursday.
Delhi mayor P.R. Sawhney said that the expenditure on deployment of staff for Games Village cleaning and for the exercise to rid Barapullah nullah of the stench was being calculated and once it is finalised, the bill will be handed over to the Delhi government for payment.
