‘No entry to Siri Fort till Games’
The Delhi high court on Wednesday dismissed the petition filed by a group of members against their ban on entry in Siri Fort Sports Complex.
The court made it clear that even though the closure of the Siri Fort complex causes inconvenience to general public, but “strict” security arrangements should be put in place to avert any untoward incident during Games.
The venue is to host events like badminton and squash during Games.
While dismissing the petition, a division bench comprising Justices Pradeep Nandrajog and Mool Chand Garg, said, “We are holding the Games under the perceived threat. So, we have to hold it under the strict security arrangement.”
The division bench, however, instructed the authorities to reopen the complex within a week after the Games.
