10-yr-old boy electrocuted
A 10-year-old boy was electrocuted in the capital when he was playing with his friends in Trilokpuri area on Sunday.
The police said that the incident occurred near a park in Trilokpuri area. This is the tenth such incident this monsoon. The deceased, identified as Vijay Kumar, was playing with his friends in Indra Park in Block-12 when he got electrocuted.
“Vijay was near the boundary wall of the park which also houses a transformer. A few wires were dangling loose from a pole. As the boy went near the pole, he got entangled in the wires and was electrocuted,” said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity.
The boy’s friends informed his mother Geeta who rushed to the spot with her neighbours. By the time she reached the spot, the locals had managed to free the boy from the wires.
The police was informed and Vijay was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Man killed as speeding bus topples

Aug. 22: A man was killed while four others suffered injuries when a bus turned turtle and hit a man walking near Kalyanpuri police station on Sunday evening.
Police officials said the incident took place few metres away from police station in Kalyanpuri area at around 6.25 pm. The identity of the deceased has not been ascertained so far while the injured have been admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital.
