18 face search in sodomy case

A city court has directed the Delhi police to carry out searches at the premises of 18 persons, including a former Indian Administrative Service officer, in connection with a complaint filed by a person alleging that he had been sexually assaulted and cheated by them.

The police investigations, however, have so far not confirmed any of the allegations.
In his application the complainant requested the court to take appropriate action against the accused persons under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act.
Metropolitan magistrate Sudesh Kumar, while allowing the search, stated in the order, “Permission for search of premises of all accused is allowed to investigating officer for the purpose of investigation under rules.”
The investigating officer was also directed by the court to submit the status report on investigations on November 3.
The complainant has levelled allegations against an Army officer and some government officials as well.
According to the complainant even though he had lodged a police complaint for sexual harassment as far back as 1999 in Chandigarh the police did not take any action as the accused persons were extremely influential. Eventually, the complainant claims that the police did lodge an First Information Report (FIR) in 2002 but no action was initiated by the police.
He also claims that some of the accused duped his mother of Rs 5 lakhs for promising her a lucrative property deal.
The complainant alleges he was cheated of an additional Rs 11 lakhs later by the same people.
The complainant came in contact with the accused persons in 1990 when he visited one of the accused person’s clinic for jaundice treatment.
The complainant’s FIR had been registered in the Chanakyapuri police station under section 377 (sodomy), 420 (cheating), 468, 471 (forgery), 120-B, 34 (criminals conspiracy with a common intention).

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
