2 crushed to death in bus accidents
An unidentified man was killed on the Bus Rapid Transit corridor near Ambedkar Nagar, southeast Delhi on Thursday evening after being hit by a speeding bus.
The police said the accident took place on BRT corridor at around 9.30 pm on Thursday. A police control room (PCR) call was made by a pedestrian who told the cops that a bus had crushed a man.
“When we arrived at the spot, the driver of the bus had fled from the spot with the bus. We are working to identify the deceased,” a senior police official said. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at the Ambedkar Nagar police station.
In another accident, a 30-year-old man, identified as Pradeep, was crushed to death by a chartered bus in Dakshinpuri area of southeast Delhi on Thursday evening.
The police said the incident took place at around 6.35 pm when Pradeep was going to his office in Greater Kailash on his motorcycle.
“He was hit from behind by a chartered bus and died on the spot,” a police official said.
Pradeep was working with a private firm. The police has impounded the bus and a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver who is on the run since the incident.
