2 held for hitting and dumping man

A 19-year-old boy and his uncle, who had picked up an accident victim on the pretext of taking him to hospital and then dumped him at a desolate place to die, have been arrested by the outer Delhi police. The young boy was driving a Maruti van, which had hit the bicycle, and, in order to avoid people’s anger, he and his uncle picked up the victim claiming that they were taking him to a hospital and later dumped him.

The incident occurred late on July 1 near Vijay dharma kanta in Aman Vihar area of Outer Delhi. An eyewitness Rakesh Kumar called up the police saying that a Maruti van had hit a cyclist. When the police reached there, they found nobody. It also tried to look for any injured in nearby hospitals but to no avail.
The next day, Ganga Dass lodged a complaint with the Prem Nagar police post that his brother Thakur Dass had gone missing since late last night. On the same day, a body was found at a desolate stretch in Sector 22 Rohini. Mr Ganga identified as that of his brother.
The police then traced Rakesh Kumar, who had made the PCR call, to ascertain the registration number of the offending vehicle. Rakesh told the police that it was a white van with registration no. DL-4C-M-4110. The number was traced to one Birender Singh, a resident of Kirari village. During questioning, he told the police that his 19-year-old Nitin, alias Nishu, was driving the vehicle.
During interrogation, the accused told the police that they were returning home after re-fuelling the vehicle. Nitin was driving at speed and hit the cyclist. In order to avoid public anger, they pretended to take Thakur to a hospital and drove away with him. However, they took a detour and dumped him in Sector-22, Rohini. The police has booked the accused for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and destruction of evidence.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
