2 killed, 5 hurt in multiple vehicle crash
Two persons were killed and five others were injured in an accident involving a trailer, a mini truck, a motorcycle and a Tata Sumo.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Friday at Rajouri Garden in west Delhi. No arrests have been made in the case.
According to the police, a trailer going towards Raja Garden hit an Eicher Canter from behind near the marble market in Rajouri Garden around 2 am. Under the impact, the Canter climbed over to the central verge and two people sleeping on the pavement got crushed.
The trailer, meanwhile, also turned turtle towards the right side and fell on a motorcycle and a Tata Sumo car passing by.
The police said that one of the two persons crushed under the Canter was identified as one Sanjay Singh. The other person was yet to be identified. The police said that both of them were apparently labourers.
Two other persons, Pankaj and Nisha, going on the motorcycle also sustained injuries and were taken to Trauma Centre. However, they were later discharged after first aid as their injuries were not serious.
Three other persons who were injured in the accident have been identified as Arjun Yadav, Amit and Sewak. They have been admitted to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya hospital.
A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered at Rajouri Garden police station. However, no arrests have been made so far as the driver of the trailer managed to escape from the spot. Efforts are on to trace him.
